NPO法人須磨ヨットクラブとシアトルヨットクラブとの45年続く国際交流ヨットレース

An international friendship yacht race between the NPO Suma Yacht Club and the Seattle Yacht Club, continuing for 45 years.

神戸市が米国・シアトル市と姉妹都市関係を結んでいることもあり、1980年ヨットハーバー南港が増設された折りに、神戸市からの要請で、須磨ヨットクラブとシアトルヨットクラブは姉妹クラブ関係を結びました。以来45年間、両クラブは両都市間の親善や日米文化の相互理解を目的として交流活動を続けています。

「タカラブネレガッタ」は、3年に1度（当初は2年に1度）クラブの代表メンバーが相互のクラブを訪問した際に、タカラブネレガッタトロフィーを争奪するヨットレースで、交流活動の中心的な行事です。このレガッタではヨットレースのほか、市長への表敬訪問、市内の商業・福祉施設等の見学、親善パーティーなどの関連行事を行い、クラブ間の懇親と神戸市、シアトル市の相互理解を深めています。

そして来る2026年5月、タカラブネレガッタ2026を開催致します。今回は30数名のシアトルヨットクラブ代表メンバーおよび家族が来日する予定です。

Kobe City and Seattle have long been sister cities, and in 1980, when the South Marina of the Suma Yacht Harbor was newly expanded, the City of Kobe requested the establishment of a sister-club relationship between the Suma Yacht Club and the Seattle Yacht Club. Since then, for the past 45 years, both clubs have continued exchange activities aimed at promoting friendship between the two cities and mutual understanding between Japan and the United States.

The Takarabune Regatta is the centerpiece of these exchange activities. Held once every three years (originally every two years), it is a yacht race in which representative members of both clubs visit each other and compete for the Takarabune Regatta Trophy. In addition to the yacht race itself, participants take part in related events such as courtesy visits to the mayor, tours of local business and welfare facilities, and friendship parties — all of which strengthen the ties between the clubs and deepen mutual understanding between Kobe and Seattle.
